Soli-Tarot
A downloadable game
This is a variation of Klondike Solitaire, that's played with a full 78 card Tarot deck.
While Klondike Solitaire may be played with a measly 52 card deck, this variation makes full use of all 78 cards in a tarot deck.
Tarot decks have 4 court cards, instead of the 3 face cards you may be more familiar with. In order from lowest (11) to highest (14) they are: Page, Knight, Queen, and King. These 56 cards are known as the minor arcana.
The biggest difference is with the major arcana, a set of 22 cards that function as a fifth suit of cards. Known as a trump suit, this suit can be placed on any other suit. The fool can either be played as an Ace or a wild card, able to be placed anywhere at anytime (This is a toggleable setting that can be changed in the launcher).
Lastly, there are 5 suits. The trump suit as mentioned previously, as well as the following 4 suits: Pentacles, Cups, Swords, and Wands. Suits (not including the trump suit) must alternate. With a 52 card deck this would look like red on black or vice versa. With a Tarot deck, it would alternate between Pentacles or Cups on Wands or Swords (or vice versa).
This is an alpha build so features and graphics will change; please be patient. I'm planning on improving the interface along with a few other changes. A brief overview of the rules can be found in game, but a more comprehensive guide is available in the rulebook. Please see the downloads for the pdf.
The jar file is runnable, so double click it to launch the game.
